Dr. Shamsnia proudly claims both Aggie and Longhorn roots, having earned her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies in neurobiology at the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at the University of California Irvine–Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
After residency, Dr. Shamsnia began her career in California before relocating to North Carolina, where she cared for patients at The Childhealth Center. She’s now happy to be back in Houston, close to family and part of the team at Bootin and Savrick Pediatric Associates.
Dr. Shamsnia is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and participates in both advocacy work and the AAP’s Early Career Leadership Alliance. She’s especially passionate about early childhood literacy and encourages families to begin reading to their babies from day one. While practicing in North Carolina, she helped launch the Reach Out and Read program to support this effort.
Known for her approachable and attentive care, Dr. Shamsnia treasures the relationships she builds with families and feels honored to watch her young patients grow and thrive. Outside of the office, she enjoys playing tennis and traveling with her husband.
