Dr. Monica McGrann

Dr. Monica McGrann received her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA.  A Fulbright Scholar to the UK in 1999, she received a Master’s of Science degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine & London School of Economics. Dr. McGrann graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry.

She is involved in the “Baby Friendly Initiative” at Women’s Hospital of Texas, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Before joining Bootin and Savrick Pediatric Associates, Dr. McGrann spent two years in Southern Africa working as one of the first Pediatric AIDS Corps doctors with the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative. She served as the secretary of the Southern African HIV Clinician’s Society and has published research on pediatric HIV, as well as child nutrition.

In her practice, Dr. McGrann enjoys getting to know each family she meets and prioritizes addressing parental concerns and questions. She supports breastfeeding and is a native Spanish speaker. While not at work, she enjoys kickboxing, reading, studying French and spending time with her husband and their two children.
