School Performance Issues in Children
Concerned about your child’s academic struggles? Bootin and Savrick Pediatric Associates in Houston, TX, provides expert support for school performance issues in children.
About Us
Bootin and Savrick Pediatric Associates is an independently owned group pediatric practice headquartered in the Texas Medical Center, with additional offices in Pearland, Memorial City, and Kingwood. If you deliver at any hospital in the Medical Center, we can even start caring for your family from day one!
We provide personalized care to children with needs across the healthcare spectrum, from chronic and complex medical issues to more routine needs, such as vaccinations and physicals.
We offer same-day appointments and have staff on call for 24-hour pediatric triage. From the moment they enter our office, we aim to put a smile back on your child’s face.
Vaccine Policy
Here at Bootin and Savrick, our goal is to keep our patients as healthy as possible throughout their childhood with us, and to set the groundwork for a healthy adulthood as well. We work towards this goal in a multitude of ways. Well child visits, for example, are an important way pediatricians screen for chronic disease.
The reason routine labs are rarely done in pediatrics is because growth is such an enormous metabolic demand, that undetected chronic illnesses are rare in normal, healthy growing children, hence the importance of preventive care in the form of well child visits.
Perhaps the single most important preventive action we have for children is vaccination. Vaccines now prevent a long list of infections that even in our parents and grandparent’s day killed many children every year.
We know vaccines are extraordinarily safe and effective, especially when given according to the recommended schedule. This regimen is the strong recommendation of all of our providers based on years of education and years or even decades of experience .
We acknowledge that many parents today are struggling under an onslaught of mostly misinformation and have many questions about the safety and efficacy of vaccines. All of us here at Bootin and Savrick are happy to answer any and all questions, and find answers from reputable sources if we do not immediately know them. In this way we can work together with families to do what is best for all of our patients to set them up for a healthy childhood. This includes protection from dangerous, vaccine preventable infections.
We understand that parenting is stressful, and more so now in the era of social media influence. It is particularly difficult to sort out high quality information from dangerous misinformation, and for this reason we want parents to come to view us as a trusted source of high quality factual information regarding the health of their child.
We understand it can take time to establish this trust and rapport, and for this reason we do not dismiss families who need a longer time to establish this relationship. We are extremely happy that the OVERWHELMING majority of our families fully vaccinate their children in a timely manner and acknowledge and value the trust that they place in us to reach this goal.
In Summary –
We absolutely recommend and hope all parents will get their children fully protected against vaccine preventable disease as quickly as possible using the current recommended schedule. We frequently update our website and social media with new information and recommendations as well as high quality, scientific information you can rely upon when making decisions about your child’s health. There are always helpful articles and posts about a wide variety of pediatric issues and hope you will come to utilize these sources when you have questions about your children and vaccines and other topics.
As always, we are always available for questions and discussions through our one 24/7 phone number (713) 795-9500.

Testimonials
We see children from cradle to college, from when they are born through high school graduation.
Yes, you can go to any office. Each time you make an appointment you can pick which office and which doctor or NP you would like to see. We are fully integrated so the medical record is continuous regardless of which of our providers or which office you go to. Most patients see their PCP about 90% of the time, almost 100% of the time for well checks.
We do complimentary “new parent visits” for expectant parents at all three offices, each doctor has specific times during the week that they do these.
We never turn sick kids away and will always do our best to find a time to see your child if they are sick. For well check ups, it’s usually best to schedule in advance especially depending on the time of year.
We have Saturday morning visits for sick children only, these are held at our Fannin location. Please call Saturday morning after 8 am to make these urgent appointments.
If the patient has been in for their well check within the last year, we will complete any school or camp forms. Please give us 1 week to complete them, especially during busy back to school season.
We see newborns at all medical center hospitals. All you need to do is let the nurse/staff in labor and delivery know which of our doctors is your physician, and we will see your baby in the hospital.
